Persons who want to vote in the Big Impact Contest must: (a) be a U.S. resident; or (b) not be a person sanctioned by the United States; and (c) must register as a Big Impact Contest Voter (“Registered Voter”).
Only Registered Voters may vote. A Registered Voter may vote one (1) time per calendar day. Big Impact Contest entrants (“Entrants”) may encourage other persons to vote for his or her entry, but Entrants (and other persons) are expressly prohibited from soliciting or obtaining votes by any fraudulent or inappropriate means, which include, without limitation, offering prizes, payments, reciprocal votes, or other inducements of any kind, or participating in voting boards, voting exchanges, voting swaps, or similar sites or methods, all as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. The use of any device to automate a vote also is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of software-generated, robotic, programmed, script, macro, or other automated votes, and Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to nullify any and all such votes made by such means and to disqualify the responsible individual(s) from voting in this or in any future Public Voting Contests.
All voting must be done by the actual Registered Voter. A person may not vote on behalf of another person. Votes intended to impact the integrity of the voting process as determined by Sponsor in Sponsor’s sole discretion are void.

Eligibility: This Contest is open to legal residents of the 50 states of the United States who have reached the age of majority in their state of residence and are employed or self-employed in fields of construction, landscaping/snow removal or agriculture. Employees, representatives and agents of John Deere Construction & Forestry Company (“Sponsor”), its parent and affiliated companies, subsidiaries, authorized John Deere dealers, advertising and promotional agencies, and vendors who in the sole discretion of John Deere Construction & Forestry Company are determined to be so closely related to John Deere Construction & Forestry Company operations such that participation would result in the appearance of impropriety, and the immediate family and members of the same household of each such ineligible person are not eligible to enter or win. Immediate family is defined as: mother, father, brother, sister, spouse, children, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, father-in-law, step-parents, step-children, grandmother, grandfather, and grandchildren. Timing: Promotion begins at 12:01 A.M. Eastern Time (ET) on March 7, 2017 and ends at 11:50 P.M. ET on April 30, 2017. (the “Promotion Period”).
How to Enter: To enter, visit www.deere.com/impact and complete the official Entry Form. Maximum one entry per person or e-mail account. Any person with multiple registrations will be disqualified from this Contest. Sponsor is not responsible for entries not received for any reason.
Big Impact Entry: As part of the Entry, entrant must describe how the entrant would make a big impact in the community if he/she won a John Deere skid steer or compact track loader. Entries must be two hundred and fifty (250) words or less and address the following questions: What will the project entail? How many people will be helped by this project? How will it make a difference in your community? How would the John Deere Skid Steer or CTL help with this project?
Conditions of Entry: By entering, entrants agree to accept, abide by and acknowledge compliance with these Contest rules, including but not limited to all eligibility requirements, the Other Terms and Conditions herein and the decisions of Deere & Company, which rules and decisions are final and binding on all entrants. Entrants who do not fully comply with these Contest rules may, in Sponsor’s sole discretion be disqualified.
Contest Entry Guidelines: By submitting an Entry the entrant warrants and represents that: (a) the Entry is your original work, (b) the Entry has not been previously published, (c) the Entry has not previously won awards, (d) the Entry does not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy, publicity or other intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity; (e) that you have obtained permission from any person whose name or likeness is used in the Entry (if any); and (f) that publication (if any) of the Entry via various media including Web posting, will not infringe on the rights of any third party rights. Any such entrant will indemnify and hold harmless, Sponsor from any claims to the contrary. The Entry must meet the following guidelines:
Entrants additionally agree to accept travel (see Prize Trip Details below) paid by John Deere to the 2017 John Deere Classic for the evening of July 10 to Silvis, IL in order to be awarded the grand prize or runner-up prizes, and that if they receive the grand prize, or runner up prizes, they will perform the proposed project between the dates of September 1, 2017 and May 30, 2018. Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may permit modifications to the project or completion outside of these dates.
Any waiver of any entrant obligation here under by Sponsor does not constitute a general waiver of entrant obligations. Sponsor reserves the right to waive the Contest entry requirements set forth herein or edit and Entry in its sole reasonable discretion. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole reasonable discretion, to request that any entrant resubmit an Entry which fails to comply with the Entry requirements prior to the end of the Promotion Period.
Participation Gifts: Each eligible entrant will receive a John Deere branded vinyl window cling. (ARV $3). Limit of one participation gift per person. Quantities are limited.
Winner Selection: 1st Round Judging: All entries will be judged by Deere & Company personnel, based on the following criteria: community impact (33.3 percent), alignment with one of the John Deere Corporate Citizenship priorities: solve world hunger, education, or community development (33.3 percent) and the value a John Deere skid steer or compact track loader would add to the project (33.3 percent). Incomplete and/or inaccurate entries and entries not complying with all rules are subject to disqualification. Decisions of judges are final and binding. In the event of a tied score, the tied entries will be re-judged, and if still tied, the one with the highest community impact score will be ranked the highest. Three (3) Finalists will be selected and will be notified by telephone and/or e-mail after May 6, 2017. Part of the 2nd Round Judging may require finalists to be interviewed, photographed and videotaped regarding their project and may require finalists to provide additional information regarding their project for public review/voting.
2nd Round Judging. The 2nd round judging consists of (1) public voting (50 percent) and (2) the submission’s score in the initial round of judging (as discussed above) (50 percent). The public voting phase of the 2nd round judging will be implemented by Deere & Company and/or a designated third party agency and will take place from June 15, 2017 at 8:00:01 a.m. PT to July 5, 2017 at 5:00:00 p.m. PT. (But, by posting a notice on www.deere.com, Deere reserves the right to modify the timing/postpone the public voting phase of the 2nd round judging.) In the public voting phase, the public will have the opportunity to vote for their preferred project among the finalist submissions that advanced to the 2nd round judging. The public voting phase will be conducted in accordance with the regulations posted on the public voting website, which are incorporated herein by reference and made a part of these Official Rules. Any tied entries will be re-judged, and if still tied, the one with the highest vote/judging score will be ranked the highest. In the event of any inconsistency between these Official Rules and the public voting regulations, these Official Rules shall prevail, govern and control in all respects, except with regard to the public voting phase for which the public voting regulations shall prevail, govern and control. Finalists must comply with all public voting regulations. Violation of public voting regulations or any encouraging others to violate public voting regulations may, in Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion, result in vote disqualification or finalist disqualification.
Odds of winning the prize depend on the number of eligible entries received.
Grand Prize description: The Grand prize winner will be able to select one of the following base models of new John Deere skid steers or compact track loaders. ARV $32,204 - $75,523 depending on model chosen.

The prize will not include optional equipment except at the discretion of Sponsor. The prize will be delivered at an authorized John Deere dealer designated by Sponsor reasonably near the winner’s address as designated in the entry form. Winner must take delivery within 30 days of notification of availability of prize or prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may permit the assignment of the prize to a government agency, corporation or other organization or entity that agrees to complete winner’s project. No other transfer or substitution of prizes permitted except where required by law. If none of the prizes are available, the Sponsor may award a substitute prize of equal or greater value. If the actual value of a prize is less than the stated ARV for the selected prize, the difference will not be awarded.
Prize (2): The following prize will be awarded by Deere Credit Services, Inc., 6400 NW 86th St., Johnston, IA 50131 (“Sponsor”) to two runner ups: An opportunity to lease a new John Deere G-Series skid steer or compact track loader, and up to 300 hours of use, with no lease payments, and physical property damage insurance on the equipment obtained by Sponsor, subject to Prize Winner’s credit approval by Sponsor and agreement to the terms and conditions of Sponsor’s standard form of lease agreement (the “Prize”). Approximate retail value of the lease payments and insurance premium for one year is $12,168.
Actual machine will be based upon availability and will be at the discretion of John Deere Financial. Winner will need to comply with all terms and meet all of the requirements of a John Deere Financial lease. Project needs will be taken into consideration. Certain restrictions may apply to the use, availability or receipt of the Prize to be awarded. These include: (i) the Prize equipment must be leased for agricultural, business or commercial purposes only, and not for personal, family or household purposes; (ii) Prize Winner must submit a credit application to Sponsor and Prize will only be awarded upon credit approval by Sponsor and Prize Winner agreeing to all of the terms and conditions of the Sponsor’s lease agreement (“Lease Agreement”); (iii) Prize Winner cannot assign or transfer the Prize or the Lease Agreement to another person except as may be approved by Sponsor in its sole discretion; (iv) if Sponsor does not approve Prize Winner’s credit application or Prize Winner declines to execute the Lease Agreement, such Prize Winner forfeits the Prize and the next highest ranked entry will be the Prize Winner ; this process will continue until the last selected Prize Winner is approved for credit by Sponsor and executes the Lease Agreement; and (v) Prize Winner is responsible for any and all expenses, costs and taxes not included in the Prize description, including, but not limited to, Federal, state and local taxes, expenses for transporting, operating and using the Prize, damages and excessive wear and tear to the Prize equipment, licensing, permits, additional insurance, and other applicable expenses and costs as may arise under the Lease Agreement.
Prize Trip Details for Finalists: The finalists will be awarded a trip for two (finalist and a guest) to the 2017 John Deere Classic July 10– July 14 in Silvis, IL during which the Grand Prize winner and runner-ups will be announced on the evening of July 10. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $4,500. See below for trip details. Any difference between stated approximate retail value and actual value of Prize will not be awarded. The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received. In order to win, the selected entrants must comply with all of the terms and conditions set forth in these Official Contest Rules; and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all such requirements.
Grand Prize trip details: includes two tickets to the 2017 John Deere Classic, transportation to and from the tournament, travel allowance for domestic U.S. roundtrip coach airfare (up to $1000/person; $2,000 total) for each of the finalists and one guest each from a major commercial airway nearest to the winner’s home residence to Moline, IL, standard double occupancy hotel accommodations for four nights, at a hotel selected by the Sponsor, and a $500 Visa or similar gift card for meals and miscellaneous expenses. All prize details not specified in these Official Rules will be determined in Sponsor’s sole discretion. Selection of airline and hotel are solely within Sponsor’s discretion. Meals, gratuities, luggage fees, incidental hotel charges and any other travel-related expenses not specified herein are the sole responsibility of winner. Trip must be taken on dates specified by Sponsor to coincide with the 2017 John Deere Classic or the prize will be forfeited. Exact travel dates and arrangements subject to availability. Winner and travel guest must travel on same itinerary. If guest is a minor, guest must be accompanied at all times during trip (including, but not limited to, in-flight, hotel stay and all prize-related events) by minor’s parent or legal guardian. Travel guest must sign and return a travel release before any ticketing of travel occurs. Winner and guest must have all necessary identification and/or travel documents (e.g., a valid U.S. driver’s license) required for travel. If in the judgment of Sponsor, air travel is not required due to winner's proximity to Moline, IL, ground transportation will be substituted for roundtrip air travel at Sponsor's sole and absolute discretion and the difference in value will not be awarded to the Grand Prize winner. Sponsor shall not be responsible for any cancellations, delays, diversions or substitution or any act or omissions whatsoever by the air carriers, hotels, venue operators, transportation companies, prize providers or any other persons providing any Grand Prize-related services or accommodations. Additional prize award details and travel information to be provided to the Grand Prize winner at the time of notification. Grand Prize winner and guest are also responsible for obtaining travel insurance (and all other forms of insurance) at their option and hereby acknowledge that Sponsor has not and will not obtain or provide travel insurance or any other form of insurance. Lost, stolen or damaged airline tickets, travel vouchers or certificates will not be replaced or exchanged.
Potential Winner Notification/Verification: Potential winners will be notified by phone or e-mail provided by him/her on or about May 6, 2017 – Phase I and will have 2 business days from the date of the notification to respond by following the instructions provided in such notification. The potential winner and runner ups must complete and sign Sponsor’s declaration and release form, confirming eligibility and compliance with the Contest rules and releasing all employees, officers, directors, representatives and agents of Deere & Company, its affiliated companies, subsidiaries, authorized dealers, suppliers and advertising and promotional agencies from all liability. Sponsor may also require additional evidence of eligibility. This form and any supporting documentation must be returned to John Deere Construction & Forestry Company by the deadline specified by Sponsor. . If the selected entrant cannot be contacted, does not respond to the notification in a timely fashion and/or fails to complete, sign and return the declaration and release form or provide other requested information/documentation within the specified time, or otherwise fails to comply with these Contest rules, he or she may be disqualified and the next highest ranking winner may be selected and contacted in the manner described above. Deere & Company, its affiliated companies, subsidiaries, authorized dealers, suppliers and advertising and promotional agencies are not responsible for late, lost, stolen, delayed, illegible, incomplete, destroyed, misdirected or unsuccessful efforts to notify selected participants. Deere & Company is not responsible if any prize is lost, stolen or damaged and the prize will not be replaced. Prize is not transferable, and must be accepted as awarded. No exchange for cash will be permitted and no refunds are allowed. The value of the prize may be taxable as income; winner is responsible for any applicable taxes. Other Terms and Conditions: Each finalist agrees that Deere & Company may photograph and videotape the awarding of any prize, use of the prize and information regarding the project, as well as use his/her name, statements, Contest entry and/or video/photograph, in any and all media, and in any and all future advertising or publicity, without further consideration, unless prohibited by law. Grand prize comes with factory warranty. All terms of standard Deere & Company leases apply to leased items. Sponsor recommends that winners verify and/or obtain insurance related to their use of equipment. Winner of leased items may be responsible for any damage to leased property in winner’s possession not covered by insurance provided as part of prize. Governing Law and Disputes: This Contest is governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Any and all disputes, claims and actions arising out of or connected with this Contest, or any prize awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by binding arbitration. Any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Contest, but in no event attorney’s fees, or punitive, special or consequential damages.
Miscellaneous: All entries become the sole property of Deere & Company and will not be returned. If, for any reason, the integrity of the Contest is compromised, including due to tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure, human error or any other causes beyond the control of Deere & Company that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the Contest or any aspect thereof, Deere & Company reserves the right in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest. In addition, Deere & Company reserves the right to disqualify any person deemed to have compromised the integrity of the Contest, including the entry, judging or voting process. In such event, Deere & Company may award prize through judging of all eligible entries received up to the date of cancellation or suspension via the judging criteria set forth above.
